Description
The art of blending emphasised through a refined and aromatic champagne
The producer
Founded in 1812, the Laurent-Perrier Champagne House reached its golden age in 1948, thanks to Bernard de Nonancourt's dynamism. Under the leadership of this visionary businessman, the house stood out by producing vintages that reflected its values of excellence and innovation.
Since its very beginnings, the house has built its identity around Chardonnay. Through the freshness and finesse that it brings to the blend, this grape variety has become the signature style of this Champagne reference.
Laurent-Perrier's avant-garde approach is reflected in Grand Siècle and its multi-vintage blends, its Ultra Brut with a "zero dosage" style and also its Cuvée Rosé, the first rosé champagne in this category. These original "breakthrough" cuvées, each creation being subject to an event, mark a new page in the history of Laurent Perrier and its quest for excellence, for which it is internationally renowned.
The quintessence of Bernard de Nonancourt’s cherished values are in the Laurent-Perrier cuvées, unanimously recognised by connoisseurs.
The vineyard
The Grand Siècle Cuvée is produced from a selection of 11 out of the 17 Grands Crus from the Champagne region. The Grand Siècle cuvée is made from prestigious Côte des Blancs crus with Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Cramant and Oger and from the Montagne de Reims with the Ambonnay, Bouzy, Vouzy, Mailly and Tours-sur-Marne Grands Crus.
The wine
Grand Siècle by Laurent-Perrier is a prestige cuvée based on the blend and not on the vintage. Laurent-Perrier takes the blending requirements even further and believes that it is possible to recreate the perfect wine-making year, a year that would bring together the ideal balance between its different organoleptic components. 24 iterations of Grand Siècle have been created since its launch in 1959.
The limited edition Grand Siècle Itération 24 Robe Soleil by Laurent-Perrier refers to the name given to Louis XIV, the Sun King’ century, marked by a strong international expansion of the French way of life.
