The producer

Located in Mesnil-sur-Oger, to the south of Epernay, for 6 generations, the Pierre Péters Champagne House has been exclusively dedicated to the production of Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Champagnes since 1919. The Pierre Péters House is renowned for the high quality of its champagnes, which are vinified in small vats and then aged on fine lees, in order to authentically express the richness of the Champagne terroir and to preserve the varietal identity of the king grape variety, Chardonnay.

The vineyard

With a surface area of 19 hectares, the house's vineyards are located exclusively on the Côte des Blancs. This emblematic terroir in the Champagne region owes its uniqueness to the chalky soil on the hillside.

The wine

Produced only in exceptional years, L'Esprit by Pierre Péters is a Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru champagne made from four illustrious parcels of the Côte des Blancs (Le Mesnil, Avize, Cramant, Oger). Its dosage is 4.5 to 5.5 g/L.

The tasting

Colour
A beautiful light yellow colour with bright green highlights. The effervescence is delicate and persistent.

Nose
Opening with subtle floral notes (hawthorn, acacia), the nose gives off notes of citrus fruit (candied lemon) and toasted hazelnut. This bouquet is sustained by a beautiful minerality that contributes to the complex and elegant expression on the nose.

Palate
Harmoniously blending power, purity and freshness, the palate is seduced by this wine’s great delicacy. Lemon and fruity aromas (white fruit, peach, tangerine) blend with flavoursome toasted notes. The finish is persistent, combining notes of candied citrus with a chalky minerality.
