Characteristics and tasting advice for Veuve Clicquot Brut Rosé "Champagne Cooler by Yinka Ilori"

Tasting

Appearance

Bright in appearance, the wine reveals delicate pink reflections and coppery hues acquired during aging.

Nose

The aromatic bouquet is rich and beautifully complex. It releases fragrances of red and black fruits such as strawberry, raspberry, cherry, and blueberry, harmoniously intertwined with spicy notes of white pepper, saffron, and licorice, along with indulgent hints of pastries.

Palate

The attack offers superb balance between freshness and structure. The palate unfolds intense flavors of red fruits and pastry, supported by lovely roundness and remarkable power, leading into a long, elegant finish.

Food and wine pairings

This cuvée pairs wonderfully with seafood such as smoked salmon, shrimp, or sashimi. It also complements meats like duck, cold cuts, as well as aged cheeses. At the end of the meal, it enhances red fruit desserts.

Veuve Clicquot combines innovation and creativity at the heart of Champagne with a new limited edition

The estate

Founded in 1772, Veuve Clicquot has established itself as an essential reference in Champagne, notably thanks to the boldness of Madame Clicquot. The estate relies on an exceptional 390-hectare vineyard, predominantly classified as Grands and Premiers Crus. Now owned by the LVMH group within its Moët Hennessy division, the House has been led by Thomas Mulliez since October 2025. It continues a legacy of excellence and innovation, illustrated by its prestigious cuvées and contemporary artistic collaborations.

The vineyard

The estate extends over 390 hectares across the finest terroirs of Champagne. It includes plots located in thirteen Grands Crus and eighteen Premiers Crus, representing 86% of its surface area. The Montagne de Reims holds a place of honor, forming the historic cradle of Pinot Noir. The entire vineyard is managed according to sustainable viticulture principles, with all plots cultivated without any herbicides.

The cuvée

This rosé champagne is the result of a meticulous blend of wines from fifty to sixty different crus. It is based on the Brut Carte Jaune, to which 12% of Pinot Noir red wine produced by maceration is added, bringing strength and aromatic richness. The blend also incorporates a significant proportion of reserve wines, representing between 25% and 40% of the total and sourced from five to six different harvests, ensuring the consistency of the house style.

An innovative limited edition

This cooler, a colorful bottle holder designed primarily from recycled materials using 3D knitting, is offered with a bottle of Brut Carte Jaune and keeps champagne chilled for 90 minutes. In a limited edition, it is part of an innovative collection imagined with British-Nigerian designer Yinka Ilori, who reinterprets the visual world of Veuve Clicquot.

Yinka Ilori is a British-Nigerian artist, designer, and entrepreneur based in London. His visual universe, marked by bold colors and shapes, draws on his dual heritage to renew the narratives of contemporary design. Inspired by Nigerian parables and oral tradition, he explores a variety of themes that resonate with an international audience, centered on the idea that art and design should remain accessible to all.

Grape varieties

The blend of this Veuve Clicquot Brut Rosé is composed of 50% Pinot Noir, 20% Pinot Meunier, and 30% Chardonnay.
