The Elegance of a Terroir-Driven Champagne by Pierre Moncuit
The Estate
Founded in 1889, the family-run house of Pierre Moncuit is located in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, at the heart of the Champagne region. This grower-producer estate spans 19 hectares of vines. Today, Nicole Moncuit and Valérie Charpentier lead the estate, carrying on a tradition of expert craftsmanship. Renowned for its exacting standards, this independent winegrower brand stands out for focusing exclusively on chardonnay, crafting wines of remarkable purity that faithfully reflect the identity of their chalky terroirs.
The Vineyard
The grapes for this cuvée come from the Sézanne terroir. The vineyard is cultivated using traditional methods and holds High Environmental Value (HVE) certification. The vines benefit from a climate favourable to the optimal ripening of chardonnay, ensuring grapes of exceptional quality.
Winemaking and Ageing
The making of the Coulmet Brut NM is overseen by Nicole Moncuit and Valérie Charpentier. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness and purity of the aromas. Malolactic fermentation is also carried out to add extra roundness to the wine.
