The Elegance of a Champagne Grand Cru by Pierre Moncuit
The Estate
Located in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs in Champagne, the family-run house Pierre Moncuit has been crafting its own wines since its founding in 1929. Today, this grower-producer estate is run by Nicole Moncuit, her brother Yves, and her daughter Valérie. At the helm of a 19-hectare vineyard, the family carries on a century-old expertise. This independent house highlights the pure expression of its exceptional terroir through high-flying cuvées.
The Vineyard
The vines that give rise to this Champagne Grand Cru benefit from an environmentally responsible approach, certified High Environmental Value (HVE). The estate favours traditional farming across its plots, dedicated exclusively to the region's emblematic white grape variety, in order to ensure the highest quality grapes.
Vinification and Aging
The making of the Millésime Grand Cru Extra Brut 2014 is carried out with precision by Nicole Moncuit and Valérie Charpentier. The process takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, preserving all the freshness and purity of the juices. A malolactic fermentation is also carried out to bring lovely roundness to the final wine.
Grape Variety
This cuvée is made from 100% Chardonnay.
